With A Spring Tide

With A Spring Tide
Etching hand printed in burnt siena or burnt umber on Hahnemuhle paper
10 x 11 inches
Inspired by Rachel Carson’s book ‘The Edge of the Sea’, this is my small tribute to the ancient world of the shoreline, where creatures are part plant, part animal, and the coming and going of the tide determines what may be. A spring tide does not in fact refer to the season but rather the lush, vibrant tide which happens the week after every full or new moon; whose fullness literally springs forth upon the shore, leaving behind all manner of wild ocean gifts.
